Temerloh district police chief ACP Mazlan Hassan said preliminary investigations revealed the ambulance was returning to Tengku Ampuan Afzan Hospital in Kuantan when the accident occurred.

He said the ambulance driver attempted to avoid a motorcycle that had lost control and hit a road barrier on the right side of the highway.

"The ambulance did not collide with the motorcycle. However, as a result of the accident, a 42-year-old man seated in front sustained a left knee injury, and a 34-year-old male nurse suffered an injury to his left elbow.
