Cops seek missing man from Pulau Tioman

ROMPIN: Police are seeking public assistance to find a 24-year-old man who has been reported missing from his house at Kampung Salang on Pulau Tioman here since last month.

Muhamad Shuqrie, who was last seen on Sept 8 on the island, is believed to have travelled to the mainland but failed to return home.

Rompin police chief Deputy Superintendent Nor Azman Yusof said the victim's mother had lodged a missing person report at the Rompin police headquarters at 5.50pm on Sept 15.

"Shuqrie, who is unemployed, was last seen at his house in Kampung Salang on Sept 8. Police together with family members had made a futile search around the island. We believe he might have gone to Rompin.

"He is about 175cm tall and medium-built. He was last seen wearing a black jacket, dark-coloured pants and carrying a red bag pack.

"We urge anyone who has seen or has information on him to contact the Rompin police headquarters at 09-414 5999 or any nearest police station," he said in a statement today.
