Anwar offers condolences to families of UiTM Dungun accident victims

KUALA LUMPUR: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has conveyed his heartfelt condolences to the families of three UiTM Dungun students who tragically lost their lives in a motorcycle accident near the university last night.

"Condolences to the entire family of the UiTM Dungun students who passed away last night.

"This is a very heartbreaking case, and I am deeply affected by this incident. I hope the family remains strong in facing this trial and receives the justice they deserve," he said on a post in X today.


In the incident yesterday, four students on two motorcycles were rammed into by a SUV driven by a 49-year-old woman.

The victims were identified as Ku Adib Aizad Ku Azmi, 20, and Khairil Anuar Jamaluddin, 20, who are accounting students and Mohd Akhmal Tukirin, 20, who is a hospitality major.

Their friend Mohd Ammar Danish Mohd Rodhuan, 20, who sustained severe injuries is being treated at the Dungun Hospital and will be transfered to the Sultanah Nur Zahirah Hospital, Kuala Terengganu for further treatment.

The woman, believed to be mentally ill, has been remanded for four days starting today.
