KEPALA BATAS: Children rescued from charity homes linked to Global Ikhwan Services and Business Holdings Sdn Bhd (GISB) are thriving under the Education Ministry's new educational programme.
Minister Fadhlina Sidek said that the programme, in collaboration with the Social Welfare Department, began on Oct 1 for the children placed in safe locations.
"The children are fully engaged in learning and are following the prepared modules. Counsellors are present, and they seem to be doing well.
"We visited them and we see they have been progressing very well," she told newsmen after attending the closing ceremony of the National Education Management Conference at Bertam Resort here, today.
The ministry launched this educational initiative specifically to provide structured learning for the rescued children, ensuring they do not fall behind in their studies.
A total of 68 teachers from the ministry are directly involved in the programme.
Fadhlina said that the modules were designed to help the children adapt effectively.
On Sept 11, police conducted raids on 20 charity homes operated by GISB in Selangor and Negri Sembilan, rescuing hundreds of children amid allegations of neglect, sexual abuse, and molestation.
