KLANG: The family of missing Madrafataha Indal Bangsawan is urgently appealing to the public for assistance in locating her.
Her mother, who only wishes to be known as Norlia, 37, said that Madrafataha was the fifth of six siblings.
"We heard from her friends that she went to Shah Alam. They claimed to have seen a social media post of her there two days ago," she said when contacted today.
She added that a relative had already searched for Madrafataha in Shah Alam but was unable to find her.
"We believe she may have followed an unknown woman. We haven't been able to contact her since she went missing," she said, expressing her heartfelt desire for her daughter to return home safely.
She urged the public to assist in the search for Madrafataha.
Meanwhile, Selangor police chief Datuk Hussein Omar Khan said that a task force had been established by the South Klang police to locate the missing girl.
"The task force is working to retrace her steps since she went missing on Oct 8," he said.
It was reported that the 12-year-old girl disappeared after her mother asked her to retrieve food from a car parked at their flat in Bukit Tinggi, Klang.
She was last seen leaving the house at 2.20pm on Oct 8, wearing a green t-shirt and black track bottoms.
Madrafataha is described as thin, fair-skinned, about 150 cm tall, with shoulder-length hair.
Police said that she went down to the parking lot alone and did not return home.
