BALING: A small tarred road that serves as the main access to Kampung Teluk Rambong, which was ravaged by massive floods recently, has been closed to all vehicles.
Checks showed that the 1km-long stretch linking the Baling trunk road to the village was closed after it was hit by another round of surging floods on Sunday.
Following the road closure, Kampung Teluk Rambong villagers have to use an access road from Desa Keda Batu 8, located about a kilometre away.
It was reported that Kampung Teluk Rambong was hit by the first debris surge and floods on Sept 30, forcing several families to be evacuated to a nearby temporary flood relief centre.
The flood destroyed three steel bridges and damaged at least two houses in the village.
It was reported that farmers in the village were appealing to the authorities to expedite the process to rebuild the collapsed bridges as they are facing difficulties of transporting their crop.
