Police hunt for suspect behind Kelana Jaya LRT trespass

KUALA LUMPUR: Police are searching for a suspect who trespassed on the Kelana Jaya LRT line yesterday, causing a service disruption.

Dang Wangi police chief Assistant Commissioner Sulizmie Affendy Sulaiman said CCTV footage is being analysed to track down the suspect, believed to have climbed a gate to access a staff pathway.

"We've opened an investigation under Section 447 of the Penal Code for criminal trespass," he said.

He asked anyone with information to assist in the investigation.

Rapid KL said that the suspect trespassed between Pasar Seni and KL Sentral LRT stations around 7.08pm.

Power was cut to allow auxiliary police and staff to search for the suspect, but they were unable to locate them. A police report has been lodged.

Full service resumed at 8.01pm, and a comprehensive investigation is underway to improve security measures.

The disruption left passengers stranded at several stations, including Masjid Jamek, Bangsar, KL Sentral, and Kampung Baru.
