2025 Budget: Cuepacs grateful civil servants prioritised

KUALA LUMPUR: The Congress of Unions of Employees in the Public and Civil Services (Cuepacs) thanked Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim for prioritising the civil service in the 2025 Budget.

Cuepacs president Datuk Seri Adnan Mat said the government's commitment to enhancing service delivery aligned with the introduction of the Public Service Remuneration System (SSPA).

"Cuepacs hopes all public servants will fully commit to ensuring this government initiative can be effectively implemented, especially in cooperation and coordination between departments.

"Cuepacs extends its gratitude to the government for its strong commitment to increasing the disposable income of public servants in line with the rising cost of living."

The minimum wage for public servants was set at RM2,115 a month through the phased implementation of the SSPA from Dec 1.

Adnan praised the government for continuing to provide financial aid to public servants.

He said the aid, set for February, would offer significant relief as the new school year, Ramadan and Hari Raya Aidilfitri approached.

"Since 2013, the government has allocated aid for public servants as a token of appreciation for their unwavering dedication to serving the public."

Anwar said the government would give a RM500 special financial aid to civil servants Grade 56 and below, including those appointed by contract.

Civil service retirees, including armed forces veterans, will get RM250 in aid.
