2025 Budget: 44 new schools begin construction next year

KUALA LUMPUR: Forty four news schools will begin construction next year, said Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.

These were among the announcements made in the 2025 Budget, which included a RM64.1 billion allocation for the Education Ministry, the highest it ever received in history.

"Forty four new schools will begin construction next year, including SK Bandar Putra Indah, Batu Pahat, Johor; SMK Bandar Seri Putra (2), Hulu Langat, Selangor; SMK Lok Kawi, Putatan, Sabah; SMK Semeling, Sungai Petani, Kedah and SK Dudong, Sibu, Sarawak," he said.

Earlier, Anwar said that RM2 billion out of the ministry's RM64.1 billion allocation would go to the upgrading projects and maintenance of schools with dilapidated classrooms nationwide.
