Azam: Higher allocation will encourage graft-busters to give their best

KUALA LUMPUR: The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) believes its additional RM22 million budget allocation will spur the agency on in combating graft.

In the tabling of the 2025 Budget (Belanjawan 2025) today, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim announced that RM360 million would be allocated to the commission compared with RM338 million the year before.

"We are grateful for the allocation and our commission will continue to work hard to combat corruption and increase integrity among civil servants.

"We will also strive to enhance governance within the public service to reduce graft and leakages," said Tan Sri Azam Baki today.

He said the higher allocation would increase morale and encourage graft-busters to give their best for the nation.

"This also shows the political will of our prime minister and his agenda in combating corruption and increasing integrity, accountability, transparency and good governance, which will propel the country forward.

"We will work even harder to achieve this agenda and to contribute to the progress of our development and especially on our economy," he said.
