2025 Budget set to propel Malaysia forward - Amir Hamzah

KUALA LUMPUR: The 2025 Budget will continue to drive Malaysia forward as outlined in the Madani economy framework.

Finance Minister II Datuk Seri Amir Hamzah Azizan said the framework aimed to enhance Malaysia's competitiveness to attract investors and boost the economy.

"The initiatives outlined in the (2025) budget will draw in investors and fuel the engine of progress in the country through the involvement of government agencies and GLICs, which will invigorate the Malaysian economy.

"The Madani economy also aims to elevate the dignity of the people, ensuring their well-being even as fiscal reforms continue, with a focus on those who truly need assistance.

"At the same time, we must think about the future and invest in the country to strengthen the economy, enhance existing skill levels and improve infrastructure so that benefits can be returned to the people," he told a press conference after the tabling of the budget today.

Amir Hamzah added, "Alhamdulillah, all the government efforts are people-centric, where the Sumbangan Tunai Rahmah (STR) is being increased to address the rising cost of living, along with efforts to increase the income of the people.

"This budget saw all facets of the economy receiving the necessary attention while prioritising the needs of the people," he said.
