PM to launch Blue Economy Conference, Madani Rakyat programme in Sabah

KOTA KINABALU: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim is set to launch the inaugural International Blue Economy Conference today.

The two-day event is being held at the Sabah International Convention Centre, with the launch scheduled for noon.

Among those expected to attend the event are Sabah Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor, the Ambassador of Norway to Malaysia Morten Paulsen, the Ambassador of Turkmenistan to Malaysia, Muhammatnyyaz Mashalov, the Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) to Malaysia Dr. Mubarak Saeed Al Dhaheri and the Ambassador of Libya to Malaysia Mohamed Assadiq Masaud Attia.

Also in attendance will be the High Commissioner of Namibia to Malaysia, Herman Pule Diamonds, and the High Commissioner of the Republic of Maldives to Malaysia, Dr. Mariyam Shabeena Ahmed, along with the founder of Blue Economy/ZERI (Zero Emissions Research and Initiatives), Prof. Dr. Gunter Pauli.

Later at 2.30pm, Anwar and his entourage will head to the Madani Rakyat Sayangi Sabah programme.

The three-day event, which began yesterday (Oct 19), is being held at the Sabah Sports Complex in Likas.
