KUALA LUMPUR: A total of 32,974 individuals have qualified for and participated in the MyLesen Programme as of Sept 14.
Transport Minister Anthony Loke said out of the number, 1,730 individuals have completed the programme.
"The remaining 31,244 individuals are currently in the training and testing phase, which runs from July to November," he said in response to Aminolhuda Hassan (PH-Sri Gading).
Aminolhuda asked about the success rate of the MyLesen programme and the number of applications that have been approved since its implementation this year.
The MyLesen programme was introduced to help the B40 group acquire a B2 class licence (motorcycle), a Public Service Vehicle (PSV) licence for e-hailing and bus and a Goods Driving Licence (GDL) for lorries.
It was part of the initiatives rolled out by the Transport Ministry through the Road Transport Department as outlined in the 2023 Budget.
The programme creates opportunities to enhance socioeconomic status and household income through job opportunities in the logistics, public transport and tourism sectors.
