KUALA LUMPUR: The 'Alice Saves Wonderland' exhibition invites visitors on a magical journey that blends art and technology with environmental advocacy to promote sustainability.
Organised by FrameMotion Studio Sdn Bhd, the digital exhibition merges storytelling with important environmental themes, encouraging visitors to consider sustainability and their role in fostering a socially responsible future.
Media Prima Bhd is the official media partner for the exhibition, which was launched at The Exchange TRX yesterday.
FrameMotion Studio founder and chief executive officer Jeand Pua said this immersive exhibition not only brings visitors to 'Wonderland' but also allows them to embody 'Alice' herself.
"As they navigate into the world, visitors will encounter an environmental imbalance that reflects the challenges of our real world.
"We are addressing sustainability and carbon footprints, emphasising the vital role artists play in shaping our future and it's crucial to understand the importance of the environment, including the health of ecosystems and the plight of endangered species.
"The audience will embark on an immersive journey inspired by Alice's Adventures in Wonderland which is reinterpreted into Alice Saves Wonderland.
"Visitors will explore various dreamlike experiences through the latest in digital artistry, interactive storytelling, and cutting-edge projection technology.
"In the immersive journey, they will engage their senses such as smelling the environment, feeling textures, creating emotional connections to their surroundings and this experience will help them think about how they can take care of the environment," he said.
He added the enchanting, fairy-tale approach makes it easier for visitors to understand and care about the environment.
Pua said the inspiration for this idea came from the increasing urgency of environmental issues.
Alice Saves Wonderland exhibition tour guide Muhammad Khalis Hafizi said in the exhibition, visitors get to experience the Magical Door which is filled with fun surprises and wonders, while the Adventure Door offers thrilling and challenging experiences known as the 'Gateway to Wonderland.'
He said for children, the Adventure Fall requires parental supervision, and pregnant women are not allowed to participate in this particular activity.
"The Enchanted Forest, on the other hand, is a beautiful nature-themed exploration where visitors can admire stunning flowers and interact with animals displayed on screens and it promotes environmental awareness through sounds and visuals.
"Inside the Miniature concept room, also known as the Rabbit House, visitors are transported into a world similar to 'Alice in Wonderland,' where the room plays with perspectives, making guests feel extremely big and small as they interact with various miniatures.
"The Mystical Forest is another part of the experience that adds a layer of excitement as participants use wireless torchlights to search for the Cheshire Cat, who hides along with six other mystical cats.
"The Red Room brings the whimsical world of chess to life, featuring a large chessboard for interactive play where visitors get to see different-sized chess pieces, and can capture pictures with cosplayers," said Khalis.
The tour leads up to a showdown, where visitors are tasked with defeating a dragon and cleaning up trash in a game that emphasises environmental responsibility while engaging players of all ages, encouraging them to take action in a fun and adventurous way while also raising awareness about protecting nature.
The exhibition is open to the public at the Exchange TRX from Oct 26 to Dec 29.
