PM pays tribute to brilliant lawyer and close friend Manjeet Singh

KUALA LUMPUR: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim extended his condolences to the family of Manjeet Singh Dhillon on his passing.

In a Facebook post, Anwar said that Manjeet was a dear friend, as well as a remarkable lawyer, knowledgeable in his field.

"As a close friend, I am deeply saddened by his departure. My heartfelt condolences once again to the family of the late Manjeet," he said.

Manjeet died on Monday (Oct 28) at his home in Bukit Damansara at the age of 82.

He was involved in various high-profile cases, including a recent death sentence appeal for those involved in the 2010 murder of cosmetics millionaire Datuk Sosilawati Lawiya and her three aides.

The prominent lawyer also represented political analyst Abdul Razak Baginda in the RM100 million suit filed by the late Altantuya Shaariibuu's family over her death.

He served as the Bar president from 1991 to 1992.
