Former UM vice-chancellor Zainal Kling dies

KUALA LUMPUR: Former Universiti Malaya deputy vice-chancellor (Student Affairs) and historian Datuk Dr Zainal Kling died at Shah Alam Hospital at about 4.30am today.

He was 79.

Buletin TV3 quoted his son Reza Zainal as saying that his father had been sent to the hospital's emergency room after his health deteriorated. He said that Zainal, who was a diabetic, had been suffering from ill health.

His remains would be brought to the surau in Section 3, Shah Alam today for the final rites before burial.
