KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysia's human capital development took centre stage at the HRD Awards 2024 Gala Dinner, where 36 awards were presented to exemplary organisations, training providers, and trainers.
Abbott Penang, Alpha Industries Sdn Bhd, and the Malaysian Institute of Accountants received the Human Resources Minister's Award in their respective categories, the most prestigious honour of the evening.
"Tonight's event is more than just an award ceremony; it is a platform to recognise outstanding achievements in human resource development," said Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof, who officiated at the event at the Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre (Mitec).
He praised the award recipients for their leadership in advancing talent development.
"These companies are not only improving their internal workforce capabilities but are also innovating and setting new benchmarks in human resources," Fadillah said.
He also lauded HRD Corp's efforts, particularly the enhancements to the Allowable Cost Matrix (ACM), which he said would align Malaysia's training ecosystem with global best practices.
"With more flexible course formats and higher claimable rates, these initiatives reflect our commitment to providing high-quality and accessible training," Fadillah added.
The HRD Awards 2024 Gala Dinner was also attended by Deputy Human Resources Minister Datuk Seri Abdul Rahman Mohamad, HRD Corp chairman Datuk Abu Huraira Abu Yazid, and HRD Corp chief executive officer Datuk Shahul Dawood.
