Asyraf issues stern warning against bullying in Mara educational institutions

LANGKAWI: Majlis Amanah Rakyat (Mara) chairman, Datuk Asyraf Wajdi Dusuki, has issued another stern warning regarding allegations of student abuse at a public higher education institution.

"No Mara educational institution, including MRSM (Mara Junior Science College), should ever conceal any instances of bullying. The Deputy Prime Minister has instructed me that if any cases of bullying are found to have been hidden, action will be taken against the respective principal," he stated on Facebook.

In a follow-up comment under the post, Asyraf reiterated his stance.

"I have previously made it clear that there will be zero tolerance for bullying within any Mara educational institutions (IPMA), including MRSM, IKM, KKTM, KPTM, UniKL, and UPTM.

"Regardless of background, whether the student is the child of a prominent figure or a high-ranking individual, any student found guilty of bullying will have no place in IPMA. You touch, you go!"

He further emphasised that if he receives information of any attempts to conceal bullying cases for any reason, Zahid has directed him to take decisive action, which may include replacing the principal or director of the implicated MRSM or IPMA institution.

Additionally, Asyraf conducted a surprise inspection of the facilities, including toilets, at MRSM in Langkawi yesterday following complaints from parents.
