KUALA LUMPUR: Netflix has announced an immediate increase in subscription prices for its Malaysian customers, covering all plan types.
The price adjustments affect Netflix's Basic, Standard, Premium, and Mobile plans, FMT reported.
Quoting website SoyaCincau, it said the Basic plan now costs RM29.90 per month, up from RM28.
The Standard plan has risen from RM45 to RM49.90, while the Premium plan has increased from RM55 to RM62.90.
The Mobile plan has also seen a slight increase, going from RM17 to RM18.90.
In addition, customers who share their Standard or Premium plans with people outside their household will be charged an extra RM13 monthly for each additional user.
This fee will be billed to the main account holder.
These price hikes are expected to impact Netflix add-on packages offered through various telcos and pay TV providers.
Astro has confirmed that its package prices will also increase, though existing customers with Netflix bundled in their plans won't see the hike until March 1 next year.
