No reports yet on forged letter using DPM Fadillah's name, say Sarawak police

KUCHING: Sarawak police say they have yet to receive any reports regarding a forged letter allegedly using the name of Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof.

State Police Commissioner Datuk Mancha Ata said they are still awaiting an official report from Fadillah's office on the matter.

"So far, no report has been filed, but I will provide updates if there are any developments," he said when contacted today.

Yesterday, Fadillah, through a statement, denied issuing a letter appointing an individual as an officer in his office.

The fake letter, bearing the Prime Minister's Department letterhead and Fadillah's name, was reportedly sent to an individual in Sarawak.

He said the sender of the letter merely cited his name without any signature.

Fadillah has asked anyone receiving such letters not to be deceived and to verify by contacting his office at 03-88724462.
