Macron shares photo of meeting with Anwar at G20

KUALA LUMPUR: French President Emmanuel Macron uploaded a post of his meeting with Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim today on his official X account.

"Together with the Prime Minister of Malaysia @AnwarIbrahim, who is also the Chairman of Asean. This first meeting will allow us to strengthen the relationship between our countries, particularly in the field of energy transition, one of our shared priorities," Macron wrote.


The post, published in Malay and French was accompanied with a picture of Macron and Anwar shaking hands with the G20 Brasil 2024 logo in the background.

It also drew comments from many comments from netizens as Macron uploaded his post in Malay.

Anwar held a meeting with Macron, on the sidelines of the G20 Summit in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil yesterday.

During the meeting, they expressed their commitment to continue to strengthen relations and cooperation between the two countries.

"It covers the fields of trade, investment, tourism, and defence, as well as cooperation in the field of Artificial Intelligence (AI)," Anwar told Malaysian reporters on Monday.
