IPOH: The top management of state government-linked companies (GLCs) and government-linked investment companies (GLICs) must remain loyal to the administration of the day, says Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi.
The Deputy Prime Minister said executives of state GLCs and GLICs, especially CEOs and managers, should not have hidden agendas.
Those in key positions, he added, should support the state government of the day regardless of who appointed them to their positions.
Zahid, who is also the Barisan Nasional chairman, said this in a speech at the Perak BN convention here today.
He said in Perak, there were GLC and GLIC executives who were not appointed by Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Saarani Mohamad.
"I am not threatening anyone, but the bosses of these GLCs and GLICs must be loyal to the government of the day.
"It doesn't matter who appointed them, that is the past. The MB now is Datuk Seri Saarani, so you must be loyal to him. Don't go behind his back."
Saarani was among the top BN leaders at the event.
Zahid, who is also the Rural and Regional Development Minister, announced that the ministry's allocation for Perak would increase to RM400 million in 2025 from RM382 million this year.
Meanwhile, Zahid urged BN component parties MCA and MIC to use proper channels to address any grievances, including those involving Pakatan Harapan, instead of airing them through the media.
He said that the focus should now be on ensuring political stability.
"Don't fight openly. Use the right channels because addressing issues publicly will not solve the problem," he said.
