Sanusi refuses to reveal details of alleged investment sabotage plot

ALOR STAR: Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Muhammad Sanusi Md Nor has refused to disclose details about an alleged plot to sabotage investments in Kedah.

Sanusi said he was aware of the supposed scheme to undermine private investments in the state but said that now is not the right time to reveal the specifics.

"I know (the details). Everything is in here (pointing to his chest). But let it remain a secret," he said briefly to reporters during a session at the state assembly in Wisma Darul Aman today.

When asked if it was not the right time to disclose the information, Sanusi smiled, nodded, and declined to comment further.

Earlier, Kedah Umno told Sanusi to name the alleged mastermind behind the plot.

State Umno information chief Datuk Shaiful Hazizy Zainol Abidin said he believed Sanusi's statement was an attempt to deflect attention from the Kedah government's failure to realise previously announced investments.

The call came after Sanusi mentioned the supposed sabotage plot during a Kedah state legislative assembly session, citing Bin Zayed International Group of Companies' decision to withdraw from the RM40 billion Langkasuka project in Langkawi.

Sanusi made the claim during a heated exchange with Teh Swee Leong (PH-Kota Darulaman), who had sought an explanation for the withdrawal of several investors from previously announced projects.

Teh also challenged Sanusi to reveal the alleged saboteurs while debating the Kedah 2025 Budget.
