Nga: RM156m allocated for Kelantan development projects

KOTA BARU: The Housing and Local Government Ministry has allocated RM156 million for various projects, including the development of 448 Rumah Mesra Rakyat units in the state.

Minister Nga Kor Ming said the allocation covered more than 10 projects in the state under the ministry's Sentuhan Kasih initiative.

Of the total, RM48 million had been designated for the Kota Baru urban landscape development project, RM35.9 million for the construction of 448 Rumah Mesra Rakyat units and RM12 million for the upgrading of Pantai Cahaya Bulan, he said.

"Additionally, RM4 million has been allocated for the construction of a new market in Jalan Binjai and another RM4 million for the renovation of two fire stations.

"A total of RM6.5 million has also been allocated for upgrading Pasar Siti Khadijah.

"Some of these projects are already underway, such as the upgrading of Pasar Siti Khadijah, with full completion targeted by 2027.

"The longest project will be the development of the Kota Baru urban landscape. Once completed, Kota Baru will become a beautiful state capital," he said at a press conference after visiting the Pasar Siti Khadijah upgrade project today.

Nga added that the allocation would be distributed immediately and expressed confidence that the approved projects would bring positive outcomes to the people of Kelantan.

"The ministry will continue to focus on various efforts and initiatives carried out in an integrated and inclusive manner to realise sustainable development plans, enhancing liveability and the wellbeing of the people."
