ALOR STAR: Tenaga Nasional Bhd (TNB) has temporarily cut electricity supply in several areas in Kedah following severe floods.
In a statement today, TNB Careline announced the suspension of electricity supply in several areas in Kota Setar and Sik districts starting from 1pm today (Dec 1) to ensure public safety.
Power supply has also been cut to the following areas in Alor Star as a safety measure:
1. Kampung Bukit Derang
2. Kampung Bukit Hijau
3. Kampung Empa 1 and 2
4. Kampung Teras
5. Royal Malaysian Air Force Camp
6. Kampung Alor Madi
7. Kampung Pulau Kerengga
8. Alor Gunung Water Pump House
9. Kampung Titi Gajah 1
10. Kampung Alor Perang
11. Kampung Alor Senjaya
In Sik, electricity supply has also been temporarily cut to Kampung Padang Chicar. TNB Careline also urged the public to avoid touching metal poles or walking over any submerged electrical installations to prevent the risk of electrocution.
