KOTA BARU: Popular influencer and entrepreneur Khairul Aming has provided food aid and essential supplies to over 20,000 flood victims in Kelantan within just four days.
Khairul, whose full name is Khairul Amin Kamarulzaman, has been tirelessly collecting donations from various sources and distributing them to those affected by the floods.
In an interview at Luxury Garden, the central hub for gathering the relief items, he said that more than 600 volunteers from across Kelantan, and even from outside the state, had joined in the efforts.
"We've had tremendous support from all corners, including small businesses, large corporations, and individuals. Some even flew in from Johor to deliver goods and volunteer. I'm truly grateful for their contributions," he said.
Khairul said he used various resources to aid the relief mission, including a 10-tonne truck, four-wheel drives, boats, and vans.
"My team consists of only four people, but we have been joined by volunteers I've never met before. Their dedication is beyond words, and I deeply appreciate their help," he said.
As of today, the team has delivered necessities and food to 15,000 flood victims.
Of these, 7,000 were sent to SK Pengkalan Kubor 2, which had been severely affected.
"We received an urgent request from the Malaysian Civil Defence Department, and two trucks were dispatched to deliver food, necessities, and medicines to those in need," he said.
Khairul said that the aid mission would continue until Wednesday, depending on the situation.
Should the need persist, he plans to extend the mission and welcomes further assistance from all parties.
"All items sent are carefully inspected, including checking the expiration dates of food and ensuring clothes are in good condition," he said, stressing the importance of quality aid for the victims.
