Khairul Aming receives letter of appreciation from New Zealand PM

KUALA LUMPUR: Social media entrepreneur and businessman Khairul Aming expressed his joy after receiving an official letter of appreciation from New Zealand's Prime Minister, Christopher Luxon.

In a recent social media post, the 32-year-old shared a letter dated Sept 16 from Wellington, New Zealand, following Luxon and his entourage's visit to Malaysia several weeks ago.

Luxon commended Khairul Aming's humble beginnings, which have led to his current ventures, including the launch of Sambal Nyet Berapi, which has been extremely well-received in the Malaysian community.

He also praised the local entrepreneur's hard work and dedication in building his brand.

"Thank you for taking the time out of your busy schedule to teach me how to make roti jala and cendol and serve such delicious local dishes," Luxon said.

He further complimented the impressive eight million views on Instagram for the video showcasing their enjoyment of Malaysian breakfast, highlighting this extraordinary achievement.

"The New Zealand tourism industry certainly appreciates your efforts," Luxon added.

On Sept 3, Khairul Aming welcomed Luxon's visit at Restaurant Hidang in Kuala Lumpur, where he had the opportunity to prepare traditional Malaysian breakfast dishes such as roti jala and teh tarik.

During the visit, he exchanged thoughts with the New Zealand Prime Minister on various topics, including tourism exchanges between Malaysia and New Zealand, the trade of halal meat and dairy exports, and the preservation of natural resources and potential exports from local small medium enterprises (SME) to New Zealand, according to his social media post.

Khairul Aming said he was grateful for his current success and wishes to continue creating content that represents Malaysia on the international stage.
