Raja Perempuan Kelantan hands over donations

TUMPAT: The Raja Perempuan of Kelantan, Tengku Anis Tengku Abdul Hamid, today handed over donations to flood victims at SK Padang Pohon Tanjung, here.

A total of 63 families received donations that comprised cash and food items.

Tengku Anis, clad in simple attire, arrived at the relief centre at about 10.30am and spent more than 30 minutes there. She was accompanied by Kelantan police chief Datuk Mohd Yusoff Mamat and senior state department officers.

The relief centre was the first visited by the Raja Perempuan of Kelantan.

Kelantan's flood situation has improved slightly today with the number of victims at 51,335 as of noon. The evacuees, from 16,429 families, are taking shelter at 129 flood relief centres statewide.

The floods in Kelantan have claimed the lives of five people, including a 1-year-old boy.
