KUALA LUMPUR: A 58-year-old man was found dead with injuries on his face and head inside a drain near Jalan Mewah 3/5 Pandan Mewah, Ampang yesterday.
The case came to light after the Pandan Indah police station was alerted to the discovery of the body by members of the public at 11.55am.
Ampang Jaya district police chief Assistant Commissioner Mohd Azam Ismail said the body was found lying face down inside the drain, which was filled with water.
"The examination conducted by the Bukit Aman Forensic Unit revealed injuries to the man's face and head," Azam said in a statement today.
He added that the body has been sent to the hospital for a post-mortem to determine the cause of death.
Azam also said that the case has been classified as a sudden death.
