KUALA LUMPUR: The National Flood Forecasting and Warning Centre (PRABN) has issued flood warnings for low-lying areas in Kelantan, Terengganu, and Negri Sembilan.
For Kelantan, areas within 5km of Sungai Kelantan in Padang Kijang, Bendang Nyior, Bandar Tanah Merah, Kg. Cekok Ipoh, Kg. Belimbing, Kg. Panjang, Kg. Kerilla, Taman Kiara, Kg. Padang Kijang, Kg. Alor Pasir, Kg. Kelewek, Kg. Terasil, Kg. Kulim, Kg. Jerangau, and Kg. Chekok Ipoh in Tanah Merah are on alert.
The warning is in effect from 8am on Tuesday (Dec 10) until midnight on Friday (Dec 13).
In Terengganu, the warning applies to areas within 5km of Sungai Besut, including Jambatan Keruak, Kg. Chegar Batang, Kg. Jerubun, Kg. Belaoh, Kg. Kayu Kelat, Kg. Alor Teratai, Kg. Alor Jejawi, Kg. Keluang, Kg. Jelubun Pasir Akar, Kg. Ulul Albab, Kg. Laklok, Kg. Raja, Kg. Alor Lintang, and other nearby villages in Besut.
This warning is active from 2pm on Monday until midnight on Wednesday (Dec 11).
In Negri Sembilan, the warning covers areas within 5km of Sungai Gemencheh and Sungai Dua in Kg. Air Kuning, Kg Tengah, Kg. Gedok, Kg. Sg Dua, Tmn Kasturi, Kg Tenai, and Kg. Air Gelugor in Tampin. The warning is effective from 10pm today until 6pm on Tuesday (Nov 10).
The PRABN has cautioned that flooding may occur earlier or later than forecasted.
Residents in the affected areas are urged to remain vigilant, adhere to instructions from authorities, and follow updates from disaster management agencies.

This warning followed the alert-level continuous rain warning issued by the Malaysian Meteorological Department (METMalaysia) for seven states effective until Dec 11.
Continuous rain is expected to persist in Perlis, Kelantan, Terengganu, and Kedah, covering districts including Kubang Pasu, Kota Setar, Pokok Sena, Padang Terap, Pendang, Sik, and Baling, with Perak's Hulu Perak district set to experience similar conditions starting Dec 8.
