TUMPAT: Housewife Che Mas Dollah nearly lost all her belongings when her home in Kampung Belukar was inundated by 1.2 metres of water in the recent flood.
However, what upset her the most was that all the items she had bought for her daughter's wedding were ruined by the flood.
The 67-year-old said her youngest daughter Rabiatul Adawiyah Yusoff is expected to tie the knot with her boyfriend on Dec 21.
"My daughter's wedding is in 12 days, and what worries me most is that almost all the decoration items bought for the big day were damaged by the flood," Che Mas said.
"My daughter is working in Johor right now and will only return next week. I have told her about this and she seems ok," said the mother of 12," Che Mas said.
When met at her home today, she said apart from the decoration items, the bed and the cupboard in her daughter's room were also destroyed.
Meanwhile, her husband Yusoff Hamat said this was the second time floodwater entered their home after the huge flood in 2014.
"The last time flood hit our house was 10 years ago and after the year, flood only surrounding our place and it did not enter the home.
"But this time, it had entered the house and we have to move to SMK Geting flood relief centre," said the 77-year-old farmer.
