Police forensic vehicle overturns on SUKE highway

AMPANG JAYA: A police forensic vehicle was involved in an accident on the SUKE highway near Kilometre 14 yesterday morning, leaving two officers with minor injuries.

The incident occurred at approximately 9am as the Toyota Hilux belonging to the police was travelling from the Cheras Police Academy to Sabak Bernam.

According to district police chief Assistant Commissioner Mohd Azam Ismail, the vehicle "lost control while navigating a bend in rainy weather" and "veered off to the left side of the road, colliding with the guardrail before overturning."

The overturned vehicle obstructed the left lane of the highway, but no other vehicles were involved. The five occupants, all men aged 30 to 50, are police officers and staff.

Following medical checks at Ampang Hospital's Emergency Department, two of the occupants were found to have sustained minor injuries.

"Both received outpatient treatment in the Yellow Zone and were discharged on the same day," the police chief said.

The case is currently under investigation, classified under Section 43 of the Road Transport Act 1987. Investigations are ongoing to determine the cause of the accident.
