KUALA LUMPUR: Firefighters put out a fire at a concert at Stadium Merdeka here last night.
The Kuala Lumpur Fire and Rescue Department said a fireworks box placed on scaffolding behind the screen at the concert caught fire.
It said the KL operations centre received an emergency call at 11.29pm from personnel stationed at the stadium.
"The seven-member team from the Hang Tuah Fire and Rescue Station on duty as first responders at the Datuk Siti Nurhaliza and Judika concert handled the fire."
The operations commander was Senior Fire Officer II Mokhtar Ramli.
"The team extinguished the fire with fire extinguishers. No casualties were reported," the department said.
