ALOR SETAR: "The sound of the crash was very loud, and I saw the Mercedes Benz spin several times before it stopped at the divider.
"At that moment, I screamed 'Subhanallah... Subhanallah'. The entire shop heard me, but at that time, I didn't know that someone had died in the accident," said Raja Asmah Raja Jaafar, 42.
Raja Asmah is a food stall vendor who witnessed an accident involving two vehicles on Jalan Lencong Barat here last night.
In the 8.50pm incident, two people were confirmed dead, while two others were seriously injured after a Mercedes Benz was believed to have collided with a Hyundai.
According to Raja Asmah, at the time of the incident, she was about to grill 'lokcing' at her food stall located in front of the accident site, and there were many customers at her stall.
She said she was shocked as soon as she heard the loud crash from the accident near the U-turn before witnessing the car spin several times before stopping.
"I saw the roof of the Mercedes Benz was at the bottom while it was spinning before it stopped, but I didn't see any victims at that time.
"Not long after, I found one victim on the car roof, while three others were lying on the road, one of whom tried to get up before lying down again, covered in blood.
"I was shocked when I was informed that two of the victims had died, while two others were seriously injured," she said when met at the accident site last night.
According to Raja Asmah, previously, there had been many accidents near the U-turn, but this one was the worst because it caused two deaths.
