KOTA KINABALU: Veveonah Mosibin is looking forward to serving Sabah once she graduates as a medical doctor.
The 23-year-old from Pitas, who gained fame for taking her online exams atop a tree, is pursuing her second degree in medicine at a private college in Shah Alam.
She completed her first degree in marine sciences at Universiti Malaysia Sabah (UMS) last year.
Due to financial difficulties, she was unable to attend the convocation ceremony for her first degree early last month.
"On Dec 26, I received my first degree scroll at DKP 19, (a facility at UMS).
"From Science Foundation in my first year to Marine Science for the next four, it's been an unforgettable ride.
"Five years went by in the blink of an eye, and it still feels surreal that I made it through this incredible journey.
"This chapter may be over, but I plan to come back one day — hopefully when the UMS hospital is up and running," Veveonah said, adding that she prefers to work in Sabah.
She also expressed gratitude to her family for their unwavering support.
"A huge shoutout to my lecturers for their guidance and encouragement, and to Yayasan Tunku Abdul Rahman for the scholarship that made this possible," she said.
Regarding her current studies, Veveonah said she is waiting for her student loan application from Majlis Amanah Rakyat to be approved.
