KUALA LUMPUR: The Education Ministry has dismissed claims of a leak in the History examination paper for the 2024 Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM), stating that the allegations are unfounded.
The ministry said it launched a thorough investigation after the issue went viral on social media, with numerous screenshots and posts circulating online.
"The ministry has found that the allegations are baseless. The screenshots that were circulated only contained a list of topics from the History textbook that were used as predictions.
"No questions from the History Paper 1 and 2 of the 2024 SPM examination were found in any of the spreads or screenshots that were shared," it said in a statement.
"As such, these allegations do not meet the definition of a leak as outlined in the procedures for managing and handling examination paper leaks, nor do they violate the security protocols set by the Examination Board."
In light of these findings, the ministry has reassured all SPM candidates to remain calm and focused while continuing with their exams.
"The Ministry of Education is committed to ensuring the confidentiality of public examination papers is preserved and that the interests and fairness for all 2024 SPM candidates are guaranteed." the statement added.
