KUALA LUMPUR: Buying a new car is a proud moment for anyone, regardless of age or race.
So, when popular Malaysian YouTuber Vikar posted a video to celebrate buying a new vehicle, the last thing he expected was a racist comment being left by viewer.
The comment, left by someone with the username @tanakayamada9857 left other netizens fuming, though.
"Nice car. But how come a Malaysian Indian buy such an expensive car? Normally it is the Chinese who have expensive cars. As a Melayu Muslim, warm wishes to Vikar for buying a new car. Alhamadullilah.
"Btw there are a lot of Bumiputera Malays who don't have a car, even they belong our motherland. So it is time for politicians to address issues of poor Malays in Malaysia," the user wrote.
Netizens, however, were having none of that.
"Amazing how racism and butthurt-ism are wrapped up nicely in a seemingly superficial congratulatory message. Anyways congrats Vikar," said user @TruthSeekerAll.

"You work hard, you can achieve and get everything. Waiting for the government is like tunggu sampai tua pun tak rasa (waiting until old age without getting anything). Happy for Vikar," said another user @shanrichards5114.
