KUALA LUMPUR: The Malaysian Animal Association has offered a RM3,000 reward for information on the killing of a cat by a man believed to be from Myanmar.
The association, on its Facebook page, said the man was believed to be a worker at a snack shop near the Klang Wholesale Market and is thought to be living in Batu Belah, Klang.
It said it would conduct its own investigation into the motive behind the slaughter of the animal to ascertain if the cat was killed for consumption.
The association urged anyone with information on the incident to contact it so that a police report can be lodged.
"Morally, killing cats for consumption is not a normal cultural practice in Malaysian society and should not be normalised," it said.
