KUALA LUMPUR: A foreign visitor lauded the expertise of Malaysian dentists after a swift and effective emergency dental procedure in Kuala Lumpur.
The foreigner, @sairahayati took to the TikTok platform to relay her experience after her tooth broke while she was here.
She had been previously fitted with a dental crown by a private dentist in London in 2021.
She expressed frustration over the discomfort caused by the incident, considering the material used, which had a reputation as a strong material for dental crowns.
"I'm really annoyed because my tooth is from zirconia and I paid 500 pounds for the service. Only God knows how much discomfort that caused," she said.
In the video, Saira detailed how a dentist in Kuala Lumpur promptly addressed her issue by re-cementing the crown, explaining that it was a temporary solution priced at RM150, far more economical compared to her initial expense in London.
"The dentist here cemented the crown back because I was not able to use the existing crown long-term; it was only a temporary fix," she added.
She also expressed amazement at the professional level of the service she received here and how affordable it was.
In 2021, she had paid RM2,900 for the crown to be fitted in London after it had dislodged while eating.
Saira said she is planning to consult her London dentist regarding the unexpected issue with the crown in one of her replies in the comment section.
"I'm going to face the dentist back in London to ask them how something like this happens, especially since the tooth shouldn't come out and neither should it crack like that."
