KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysians are touched by a heartwarming video highlighting the exceptional effort made by teachers in a school in Kuala Lumpur to honour a cherished staff member who is retiring.
The video, shared by TikTok user @mimiemicha13, showcased a heartwarming farewell celebration held in Sekolah Kebangsaan Convent (2) Bukit Nanas for its staff Manohar Rengasamy, better known as Uncle Mano.
The user, believed to be a teacher at the school, said Uncle Mano was one of its general assistants and the head of the cleaning department. The celebration, which took place on Thursday (July 18), also showed Uncle Mano being serenaded by teachers, staff, and students in a special farewell event.
In the video, he was seen being escorted as an important guest to the school hall, where he was greeted with a flower garland upon entering.
He was also seen receiving various gifts from the teachers and students and was even taken around the school on a motorcycle.
Uncle Mano was also taken to the school canteen, where a cake was waiting for him.
The video has since touched the hearts of many, with many Malaysians praising how the school cherished and appreciated its staff.
One user said that Uncle Mano must have been a kind individual and prayed that he be given prosperity and health.
"Happy retirement, Uncle Mano. Regardless of someone's position or rank, we should do something like this.
"It's heartwarming to see Uncle Mano enjoying it," said a user.
