KUALA LUMPUR: A heartwarming act of kindness of a durian vendor in Kuantan, Pahang, who offered durians to an elderly mute man, has captured the attention of netizens.
In a viral TikTok video posted by @rizqinrifri1, he shared a touching encounter with an elderly man who came to his stall late one evening.
As he was about to close his stall for the night, the man approached him with a note and a Persons with Disabilities card indicating his disability.
The senior citizen explained in a note that he wanted to buy a durian for his child, who had a craving, but he didn't have enough money.
"I want to get a durian for my child but I don't have enough cash. Thank you," read the note.
In a generous gesture, @rizqinrifri1 decided to give the elderly man not just one durian, but a whole basket of Udang Merah durians, also known as D175.
The vendor expressed his admiration for the senior citizen's honesty.
"He could've easily taken one durian without paying, but he chose to be honest and shared his situation with me," he wrote on his post.
His kindness has touched many netizens' hearts, prompting them to praise and thank him in the comments section.
