KUALA LUMPUR: A man decided to surprise his girlfriend for her birthday in an unconventional way.
He rented a slot on an LED digital billboard in the heart of Bukit Bintang and played a montage of photos featuring the two of them.
The surprise, recorded by the man's friend, was posted on TikTok under the account 'Marvind' and has garnered over 50,000 likes in just a few days.
The billboard, located at the Bukit Bintang and Lot 10 traffic junction above McDonald's, is not only large but also strategically positioned to be visible from all angles, including from inside vehicles.
It is learned that the Friday's birthday surprise was planned for 12am and when the birthday girl arrived there with her sister and friends.
Some bystanders, including the man's friends and his girlfriend, stood stunned as they watched the video. A few traffic police officers were also seen managing traffic below the billboard screen.
The video garnered many comments from netizens, with most inquiring about the cost of the stunt.
There were also congratulations for the man's efforts to surprise his girlfriend, and some wished their partners would do something similar for them.
One Tik Toker, Raja Nik asked how much it cost to do something similar.
One viewer, under the name of 'eida sweety91' said:" I wish one day I will get a man like this that knows how to appreciate her girl".
Eskrem Ginger also commented saying, if her husband doesn't do the same for her birthday, she would pack her bags.
