KUALA LUMPUR: A Pakistani man's beach visit to Port Dickson turned challenging when his rental car got stuck in the sand.
In a video shared by TikTok user Alexec Brock, the rental car - a black Chevrolet, was seen stranded awkwardly on the shoreline.
Brock then approached the driver, a Pakistani national resting in the shade nearby, and learned that he had rented the car from a Singaporean owner.
The driver explained that the area was dry when he first drove in.
"I was driving slowly, and the sand became wet as water started coming in. The tide suddenly rose, but we'll pull it (the car) out," he told Brock.
In his caption, Brock said that he returned later that night to check on the situation, but the car was no longer there.
"The car was gone. Towed or into the unknown," he said.
The video has sparked online reactions about the risks of beach driving, even for sturdy four-wheel-drive vehicles.
"People will think twice about parking their car on sand, worrying that the tyres might get stuck," one user commented.
Another added, "By the time he pulls it out, the seawater would have damaged the car."
The video has garnered approximately 22,700 likes and 8,961 shares at the time of writing.
