KUALA LUMPUR: A man was literally and figuratively seeing red after ah long mistakenly splashed his house with red paint in Ipoh.
A video posted on social media, showed the porch of a terrace house, a parked Myvi car and a motorcycle all covered in red paint, believed to be splashed by the illegal loan sharks.
What the loan sharks didn't know is that the house occupant who allegedly took the loan, had long moved out.
It was a new family living there now.
The new tenant and his family were annoyed that they were wrongly targeted.
In a brief caption in the video, the house tenant wrote: "Someone else's name, but for no apparent reason, we have to wash and clean the oil paint. So depressing."
He also told off the people who did it and advised them to conduct proper checks before simply splashing red paint on a house.
"See the name of the borrower lah... why me? My name is something else, lah, moron. You fellas who threw the red paint, don't you people check first?"
The loan sharks had also left a note, asking the loan borrower to contact any of the two phone numbers they included in the note.
The viral post by Atokipoh on TikTok quickly became viral and has so far received many comments, including people who advised the new tenants to lodge a police report.
Replying to one of the comments, Atokipoh said he had reported the incident to police.
He said the loan sharks are from Singapore and that they had allegedly loaned S$3,000 (RM9,889) to the previous tenant.
The man revealed that he had met with the borrower's mother, whose house was also not spared from red paint.
He said he took leave from work today to clean up the property.
"It's time consuming and not cheap," he said.
