#NSTviral: Viral video of e-hailing rider using sign language touches hearts [WATCH]

KUALA LUMPUR: A video of an e-hailing rider communicating in sign language by the roadside has gone viral, leaving netizens deeply touched by his gesture.

The video, shared by TikTok user @delladellonofficial, struck a chord with many viewers, with numerous netizens expressing admiration for his resilience and determination.

"I apologise for the recording, but I am truly moved by your hard work and incredible spirit. Especially with the 'Babah' movie trending, your actions feel so fitting. Coincidentally, you were beside me at that moment. As an ordinary person, I pray that you are always blessed with abundant rezeki," the post read.

"I don't understand the sign language you were using, but I'd like to learn. Regardless, I pray that you are always in good health and under Allah's protection."

In the comments, many netizens also left well-wishes for the man, praising his determination and perseverance.

One user, @riniesalwazakaria, was able to decipher the man's signs, revealing that the rider was asking, "Who is your friend?" presumably from a call he was making.

The rider's actions also drew comparisons to the recent Malaysian film Babah, starring Qi Razali, which features similar themes of communication and resilience of a father.

Netizens noted the parallel between the rider's gesture and the movie's portrayal of overcoming challenges, emphasising the importance of representation in everyday life.

@Huda Halim commented: "I can't bear to watch this, it's so sad… even hearing this song makes me emotional. You may not know how much they struggle when working. Only those who truly understand will understand. I'm happy to be friends with people like this... they're kind-hearted."

Another user, @user3276125478692, said: "I feel emotional when I see the effort of a father who loves his child, sacrificing everything. May he be blessed with mercy in this world and the Hereafter."
