Pas' Mustafa Ali accuses Rafizi of slandering

KUALA TERENGGANU: Although Pas has yet to sever ties with PKR, its vice-president Rafizi Ramli has been slandering the party’s leadership with claims that Pas has received funds from 1MDB.

Pas Election Director Datuk Mustafa Ali said Rafizi only represented himself and not PKR as a whole, adding others in that party may not agree with his method.

He hit out at Rafizi for making the accusations without any strong evidence.

“I will certainly support him if he names the person who he claimed has received funds from 1MDB. We are also interested to know who this person is,” he told a press conference today.

However, he added that Rafizi has only been all talk without presenting any solid evidence.

Mustafa was commenting on Rafizi’s claim that the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) had traced the flow of funds from 1MDB to an individual close to the Pas leadership.

Rafizi claimed to have evidence to back up his claim, and challenged Pas president Datuk Seri Abdul Hadi Awang to respond.

Even so, he refused to reveal the identity of the individual, saying he would only do so after lodging a report with the MACC in the weeks to come.

Hadi responded by urging Rafizi to seek forgiveness from Allah for the accusation, which he described as a “300 per cent lie”.

Meanwhile, Mustafa said Pas will only decide on its tie with PKR during its Muktamar end of this month.
