Sabah Umno Flag Run kicks off fifth day in Sipitang

KOTA KINABALU: Sabah’s Umno Flag Run kicked-off its fifth day with participants setting off in a convoy from Sipitang district.

Held in conjunction with the party’s 71st anniversary, today’s run was joined by over 1,000 participants, comprising mostly Umno members.

They will be passing through Beaufort, Kimanis, Papar, Putatan, Penampang and the state capital.

Expedition leader, Faez Nordin, said participants began their run at about 7.30am and are expected to arrive at the finishing point at UiTM Sabah here, at about 4pm.

“Runners will cover about 200km from Sipitang to Kota Kinabalu.

“However, they will take a two-hour break at Putatan, so participants can perform their Friday prayer, before continuing on to Penampang and then, Kota Kinabalu,” he said.

Chief Minister and Sabah Umno liason chief Datuk Seri Musa Aman is scheduled to receive the Umno flag from the participants when they reach UiTM Sabah.
