Wee Ka Siong takes DAP to task over about-turn on Dr M

ALOR GAJAH: MCA deputy president Datuk Dr Wee Ka Siong has taken DAP to task for their apparent about turn on their views of former prime minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad.

"Just prior to the last general election, I was speaking at a ceremah here (in Machap Baru).

"DAP also held a ceramah only 100-metres away and they could be heard condemning Mahathir.

"What has happened?

"This was the case also just two or three months before the 2013 general elections.

"They said (Tun M) was a robber who had robbed the country's assets of over RM100 billion and even urged the authorities to investigate him," he added.

Wee was speaking to reporters after giving speech to around 1,000 villagers of Kampung Machap Baru here, tonight.

Present were Alor Gajah Barisan Nasional chairman Datuk Seri Abdul Ghafaar Atan, Alor Gajah member of parliament Datuk Koh Nai Kwong, State BN information chief Sulaiman Md Ali, MIC National Information chief Datuk V.S Mogan, state MyPPP chairman Datuk Chiw Tiang Chai, state MCA chairman Datuk Lim Ban Hong and state Gerakan representative Choong Choe Hin.

Earlier, at the ceramah, Alor Gajah BN chairman Abdul Ghafaar urged BN party members in Alor Gajah to come out to vote in the next general election.

"We have 20,000 Umno members, 9,000 MCA members, 5,000 MIC members, 2,000 MyPPP members and 2,000 Gerakan members.

"We have no problems winning should all BN members come out and vote for us in the next general election," he said.

In the last general election, Machap Baru assemblyman Datuk Lai Meng Chong won against DAP by a slim majority of 152 votes.

Abdul Ghafaar also reminded the rakyat not to be swayed by the oppositions' lies.
