KOTA KINABALU: Loyalty to the coalition’s concept of leadership is the important foundation which helps to strengthen Sabah BN government.
Chief Minister Tan Sri Musa Aman said the state BN remained supportive of Prime Minister and BN chairman Datuk Seri Najib Razak in leading the 13-party alliance coalition and bringing good track record.
In addressing Sabah MIC members, he said BN's ability to lead and bring about more development in the state clearly proved how the government appreciated the trust and confidence of the people.
“Among the key basis that has helped strengthen the Sabah BN government is our loyalty to the coalition's concept of leadership and our loyalty to the leaders of the party as well as the government.
"In this context, Sabah BN wishes to firmly reiterate our undivided support to the Prime Minister in leading BN and continuing the struggle to ensure success in the country's development transformation in all aspects,” he said in his speech.
Musa's speech was delivered by Sabah Special Tasks Minister Datuk Teo Chee Kang, who is also Liberal Democratic Party president, at the 19th Sabah MIC convention here.
He also stressed that the unity and solidarity within the party needed to be further strengthened to make sure BN remained strong and stable.
Having a concerned party, Musa also said Najib had proved to be an able leader, looking after the interests of all communities, including the Indian community in the state.
"We have a party and a leader who are attentive towards the wellbeing and welfare of the people. This has been proven through the launching of Malaysian Action Plan for the Indian community.
"This effort clearly reflects the government's seriousness and stance in implementing an approach that is more comprehensive to handle issues relating socio economic issues and bridge the gap between the Indian community and other ethnic groups," he said.
Musa also expressed confidence that MIC under its central and state leadership would continue to safeguard the interest of the Indian community.
Present were Sabah MIC chairman Datuk V. Jothi, MIC secretary-general Datuk Sakthivel Alagappan, Sabah MCA deputy chairman Datuk Francis Goh, Upko secretary-general Datuk Donald Mojuntin, PBRS secretary-general Datuk Dr Johnson Tee, and PBS information chief Datuk Jahid Jahim.
