KOTA BARU: Police have received three reports from two political parties over the Wisma Tok Guru eviction issue.
Kelantan police chief Datuk Hasanuddin Hassan said two reports were lodged by Parti Amanah Negara (PAN) and another by Pas supporters.
"The reports, among others, urged police to be on standby in case any untoward incidents happened at the gathering held at Wisma Tok Guru on Sunday night.
"However, police had already taken precautions by deploying officers to the scene," he told reporters at the state police's monthly gathering at its headquarters here today.
Hasanuddin said no untoward incidences were recorded. More than 150 Pas supporters were present at the demonstration.
"Police will also monitor the case from time to time to ensure no unwanted incidents occur," he said.
Meanwhile, state PAN chairman Datuk Wan Abdul Rahim Wan Abdullah said the party would wait for the court to make its decision over the issue.
"At the moment, our lawyer is making preparations to file a petition against the eviction notice. Once ready, he will file the case at the Kota Baru court.
"PAN will adhere to the court's decision if it decides that the party has to vacate the building," he said.
The Wisma Tok Guru issue created a stir recently after PAN vice-president Datuk Husam Musa received an eviction notice to vacate the building, which also served as the party's headquarters and Husam's office, located at the intersection of Jalan Salor-Pasir Mas.
Husam had said the matter would be brought to court as soon as a formal notice has been served, adding that PAN would continue operating at the building pending the court decision.
The Salor assemblyman also raised a procedural issue, pointing out that the instruction to vacate was conveyed to him instead of PAN.
